Twelve years dark — back online
Play Unreal Tournament 3 Online on PS3 (2026)
Retail PS3 hardware. Live matches across six game modes. No PC emulation, no proxy hack — a reconstructed master server answering on the same port GameSpy silenced on May 31, 2014.

Set these DNS values on your PS3
Primary DNS
15.204.233.35
Secondary DNS
1.1.1.1 (any public DNS works as fallback)
PS3's DNS field accepts only numeric IPs — you can't type a hostname there. The friendly hostname dns.ut3mod.com resolves to the same IP if you ever want to verify from a desktop.
Find a match
Once your DNS is set, jump in the UT3MOD Discord to coordinate matches with other PS3 players, report downtime, and see who's online right now.

How to Connect — Step by Step
- From the PS3 Home Menu, open Settings → Network Settings.
- Select Internet Connection Settings and press X.
- Choose Custom. Not Easy — Easy uses your router's DNS, which won't reach our server.
- Pick the connection method that matches your setup — Wired or Wireless.
- For most settings on the next screens, leave the defaults (Auto / Automatic) until you reach the DNS screen.
- When you reach DNS Setting, choose Manual and enter:
Primary DNS: 15.204.233.35
Secondary DNS: 1.1.1.1 - MTU: Automatic.
- Proxy Server: Do Not Use.
- UPnP: Enable.
- Save the settings, then run Test Connection.
- The PS3 will report Internet Connection: Succeeded — you're set.
- Launch Unreal Tournament 3, sign in to PSN, then go to Multiplayer → Join Game and pick any gametype tab.
- Pick a UT3MOD server from the list and join.
BLES-00200 (EU) and BLUS-30086 (US), with the Titan Pack update applied.
Why this exists
When GameSpy shut down on May 31, 2014, hundreds of games lost their online multiplayer overnight — including Unreal Tournament 3 on PS3. In December 2022, Epic Games said they had plans to restore UT3's online features through Epic Online Services. More than three years later, nothing has shipped.
This server exists to keep a piece of gaming history playable on the hardware it was made for. The community rebuilt the back-end from the protocol up: packet captures, a patched flag-byte that shipped broken in the original handshake, and a master server now answering requests from real consoles.
We don't distribute the game. We don't modify it. We don't profit from it. If Epic ever ships their promised revival, we'll shut ours down and point players there.
If something breaks
"Offline" or "Not signed in" inside UT3
The game's PSN auth is hitting our redirected GameSpy auth path on first launch after a DNS change. Quit UT3 and relaunch it once after changing DNS — this clears the stale auth state.
Server list is empty after refresh
Confirm Primary DNS is exactly 15.204.233.35 with no spaces, and that the PS3's connection test reports Succeeded. Also try the other gametype tabs — up to six modes are running at any time.
"Network error" mid-game
Mid-match disconnects are usually local internet, not server-side. Check your home connection first, then re-join. If it keeps happening on the same map, note the map and email contact@ut3mod.com so we can reproduce.
The master server is one person and a spreadsheet away from being the only thing keeping PS3 UT3 online.
